This line file represents the pedestrian network in the urbanized areas of the San Luis Obispo region, including sidewalks, areas of no sidewalk, crosswalks, bike paths, informal paths, unmarked crossings.
This dataset was developed to utilize in the future improvement of land use modeling and travel demand modeling tools for the San Luis Obispo region. This dataset was also utilized to develop the Safe Routes to Schools maps for all or most of the public schools in San Luis Obispo County, a partnership between SLOCOG and SLO Regional Rideshare (a divison of SLOCOG). See the set of Safe Routes to School maps here: http://www.slocog.org/programs/data-services/gis-mapping (or here: http://rideshare.org/safe-routes-to-school-resources/).
The dataset originated from the street centerline file; SLOCOG used the "Copy Parallel" tool to generate a set of two lines parallel to the street centerline file.
San Luis Obispo Council of Governments (SLOCOG) developed and maintains this dataset. The original street centerline file is credited to: CMRS, City of Atascadero, City of Grover Beach, City of Paso Robles, City of Pismo Beach, City of San Luis Obispo, MSAG database, CalFire, CalTrans, SLO Assessors Office, NAIP, Contact One; The original street centerline lines are not incorporated into this dataset; many of the original roadway attribute information is incorporated into this Pedestrian Network dataset.
There are no restrictions and legal prerequisites for using the feature class after access is granted.
