This line feature class is the combined collection of the bikeways in all of the San Luis Obispo region's jurisdictions.
This dataset represents all on-street bikeways in the region, including Class II bike lanes, Class III bike routes, bike boulevard(s), sharrows, the Pacific Coast Bike Route (along State Route 1). Bikeway classifications are based on local jurisdictions' bike plans, which typically identify existing bike infrastructure. In addtion, an attribute field in this dataset identifies planned bikeway improvements (for example, a planned Class II bike lane where a Class III bike route currently exists). This dataset was used in the development of the San Luis Obispo County Bike Map 2013, available here: http://www.slocog.org/programs/data-services/gis-mapping or here: http://rideshare.org/bike-maps/.
This layer is a derivative of the countywide street centerline, which was created by the San Luis Obispo region's various GIS agencies and quality control checked by Contact One. CMRS, City of Atascadero, City of Grover Beach, City of Paso Robles, City of Pismo Beach, City of San Luis Obispo, MSAG database, CalFire, CalTrans, SLO Assessors Office, NAIP, Contact One. Bikeway data and related attribute fields developed and maintained by San Luis Obispo Council of Governments (SLOCOG) and is based on local jurisdiction's bikeway plans.
There are no restrictions and legal prerequisites for using the feature class after access is granted.
